Introduction to Clinical and Translational Research Study Design

This course is designed for residents, fellows, faculty, and staff as a practical introduction to clinical and translational research methods. Held every other week between August and December, the course includes a combination of asynchronous videos, didactic lectures, discussions, and practical applications.

Approximate Duration: 16 weeks

  • This course is designed for residents, fellows, and interested junior faculty as a practical introduction to clinical research methods. Applicants must identify a research topic and faculty advisor.
  • Tuition cost is $500.
  • Enrollment is limited to the first 80 accepted applications.
  • To provide a foundation in key components of the design of clinical and translational research.
  • To facilitate the development of students' research protocols in preparation for foundation grant applications.
  • To improve the reporting quality of clinical and translational research studies.
  • This 16-week course will meet online via Zoom every other week, Thursday afternoons, 3pm- 5pm, from Aug. 28, 2025 to Dec. 11, 2025.
  • Watch pre-recorded lectures prior to class. Lecture discussions start at 3PM, and small group breakout sessions start at 4PM.
